HAINES, Sidney Oliver — Passed away quietly, after a lengthy illness, Wednesday, February 23, 2000 at Shaver Hospital, in his 81st year. Predeceased by his wife Agnes and his daughter Sheila. Born in Niagara-on-the-Lake, he is survived by his brothers Ken of St. Catharines and Noel of Niagara-on-the-Lake. Loving father of Bill and his wife Helen of St. Catharines, John and his wife Colleen of Kitchener and Richard and his wife Margaret of St. Catharines. Wonderful Grandpa to Daniel, Alison, Bradley and Steven. Sid was a Sergeant with Niagara Regional Police until his retirement in 1980. He was also a proud veteran of World War II. Family will receive friends at THE HULSE & ENGLISH FUNERAL HOME AND CHAPEL, 75 Church Street (684-6346) on Friday from 7-9 and Saturday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel on Sunday, February 27, 2000 at 2:00 p.m. Private family interment in Victoria Lawn Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family. Special thanks to Dr. Kanungo and the nursing staff on 2 East at Shaver Hospital.
